What you do need is demonstrable competence: a result you achieved, work you have done, or students who improved. Be precise about what you are qualified to teach. Overstating credentials is the fastest way to lose the trust this business runs on.

Teach a small group free or cheap in exchange for honest feedback and permission to quote them. It gives you proof, and it exposes everything wrong with your material before a paying student finds it. Teaching one person well produces better marketing than a launch to an empty list.

Live sells more easily, holds students accountable, and tells you immediately where your explanation fails. Recorded scales but completion rates are usually poor, and a course nobody finishes generates no referrals. Many people start live, find out what actually needs explaining, then record the version that works.

Price against the outcome the student gets, not the hours of video. Very low prices attract students who never begin, and they do not refer anyone. A smaller number of committed students produces better results, better testimonials and a better business. If you must compete on price, compete by narrowing who it is for instead.

Expect it and price accordingly. Files spread; there is no reliable way to stop it. What cannot be copied is you: feedback, the group, live answers, corrections on someone specific work. If your entire product is a video file, piracy hurts badly. If the videos are the smallest part of what students pay for, it barely registers.
